Private equity firms have amassed almost $1.5 trillion in “dry powder” at the end of 2019, the highest year-end total on record, according to data compiled by Preqin. The 2020 M&A activity is likely to surpass the 2019 volume of approximately $450 billion worth of private equity deals.
