Peter A. Barnes, Of Counsel, Caplin & Drysdale, a leading authority on international tax and Sharia finance, discusses Investment and Tax Implications of Islamic Finance. Peter’s practice focuses on assisting multinational corporations in their global tax planning programs. For more than 22 years, Peter served as Senior International Tax Counsel for General Electric Co. Prior to joining GE, he served as the U.S. Deputy International Tax Counsel at the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Tax Policy. In 2015, Peter was elected as the U.S. delegate to the Permanent Scientific Committee of the International Fiscal Association. Peter lectures on International Tax at Duke Law School and previously was an Adjunct Professor at New York University School of Law Graduate Tax Program.
